  • What is the difference between Premier and Premier Plus Pet Insurance?

    Premier and Premier Plus Pet Insurance offer similar benefits, however the Premier covers vet fees for a limited time of 12 months counting from the day the injury or illness first occur and considering that the premium is paid. On the other hand, Premier Plus Pet Insurance with Lifetime cover can refund you for vet treatments incurred throughout a lifetime of your pet or as long as the policy is active.

  • Does Premier Pet Insurance cover existing conditions?

    Premier Pet Insurance only covers conditions that develop during the policy period, so pre-existing conditions are excluded. For this reason, it is highly beneficial to get Premier cover as soon as possible to guarantee you will have vet fees covered within policy period.

    Your pet will be covered up to the vet fee limit for all covered accidental injuries per policy year. Cover for each injury will continue for a maximum of 12 months from the date which the injury occurred, as long as you have paid the premium to keep the insurance in force. Once the time limit is reached for an injury, there will be no more cover for it. There is no cover for illness under this type of cover.

    What does Premier Pet Insurance Cover?

    Veterinary Fees

    We will cover you for treatment of your pet by a vet up to the maximum benefit for the total cost of all Injuries or Illnesses in each period of Insurance. Cover will reinstate at renewal, subject to premiums paid on time, and ongoing conditions will continue to be covered up to the maximum benefit.

    Third-Party Liability

    Cover provided for accidental bodily Injury (fatal or non-fatal) or accidental damage to property not owned by you or in the custody or control of you caused by your dog.

    Emergency Boarding Kennel or Cattery Fees

    We will pay the cost up to the maximum limit of boarding your pet at a licensed premise if you, or anyone normally living with you, need to go into hospital for emergency medical treatment.

    Theft or Straying

    We will cover the purchase price of your pet up to the maximum benefit if it is stolen or goes missing and no recovery is made within 45 days, despite advertising and offering a reward.

    Advertising and Reward Costs

    Cover provided for the cost of local advertising if your pet is lost or stolen as well as the cost of a suitable reward up to the maximum limit.

    Accidental Death

    We will pay the purchase price up to maximum benefit of your pet if it dies or has to be put to sleep by a vet following an accident.

    Holiday Cancellation

    This provides cover for any travel and accommodation expenses that you cannot recover if you have to cancel or cut short your holiday because your pet has gone missing or injured/illness while you are away.

    Optional Overseas Travel Insurance

    We will reimburse you for up to the maximum benefit for veterinary fees, quarantine costs, emergency repatriation and loss of passport during a journey made by you and your pet within the European Union.
